Cultural Service Learning Week

Kristinesnow

Cultural Service Learning Week has begun here at RPS.  The trips to Puerto Rico and to a Habitat for Humanity project in Philadelphia left on Tuesday.  Word from PA is that it is very snowy and they have been doing a lot of shovelling and cleaning projects inside the parsonage at which they're staying.  In Puerto Rico, a different story however, it is very sunny and they are having a wonderful time learning about Puerto Rican culture and doing service work with the Salvation Army.  Here in Vermont, the students are pursuing an alternative curriculum and engaging in service projects.  This afternoon a group will go to the Salvation Army, another to Bike Recycle Vermont, and the last to the Rose Street Artists Co-op.  The school is quiet but lots is going on as RPS reaches out to others all around the country.
