The Annual Appeal 2010

The annual fund at Rock Point School is the key to the financial security and continued growth and success of the school in all its programs and endeavors.

The annual fund is very important to the school because there are no restrictions on where the funds can be used. It is also important because it provides an excellent opportunity to the donor to give a regular gift each year. Every donation made to Rock Point School is used to strengthen our mission both now and for the future. The commitment of donors to give yearly to the annual fund is crucial to the school as it allows for a steady source of revenue which can be directed straight into our operating budget. With more money guaranteed in the operating budget, other monies are then freed up for specific long term goals and projects.

PLEASE DONATE TO THE ANNUAL APPEAL 2010.

Long Term Goals of The Annual Fund

1. Scholarship Shanestudy.jpg

There are always more students who need to be in the small, supportive community that Rock Point School provides than the current scholarship funds can support. With an increased annual fund, the school will be
able to direct more money towards scholarship to ensure that more students with limited finances can attend Rock Point School.

2.Improving our program

There are currently verMarti Nick Smiles.jpgy diverse, entertaining and multi-faceted academic and residential programs at Rock Point School. With more money available from the annual fund, however, we will be able to provide even more exciting and challenging opportunities to the students such as more international trips, a language program, visiting teachers and specialists, and ambitious arts classes.

3. Raising the salaries of residential educators and teachers

Many dedicated, enthusiastic and caring people are attracted to work in the dorm program at Rock Point Promkids.jpgSchool. Unfortunately many of them are forced to move on after a short time due to financial concerns. With a healthy annual fund, more money could be allotted to the salaries of the residential educators, creating the potential for a higher retention rate. Once the goals have been met for the residential educators, the salaries of the entire staff can be reviewed so that they remain competitive with other schools in the area.

4. Building Maintenance

Rock Point School operates within a very beautiful but very old building on the Episcopal Diocese property of Rock Point. Our building has been well loved and well used for many years and this shows in some places. With more money from the annual fund channeled into repair and preservation of the building, we will be able to ensure that the building not only continues to stand but is improved and modernized for many years to come.
