Carnival to Celebrate Achievement

Someone peering through the window of the RPS library yesterday would have been greeted with a scene of chaos.  Good chaos but chaos none the less.  C.J. Spirito, Head o School, is known as a man who loves a game and he shared this love yesterday with the students and staff as part of a celebration of second quarter academic achievements.  He set up many different games - carpet ball, balcony drop, ping pong, mini basketball, knee hockey, obstacle courses, table football and more - for the students to play in order to win tickets that could be entered into a raffle to win wonderful prizes.  The students who were on the Honor Roll also had the chance to bid for silent auction and noisy auction items with tickets won at different amounts for the different grades on their report cards.  There were also chances for any one to win more tickets by showing good sportsmanship or winning at the various games.  It was an hour or fun, laughter and intense competition.

As well as a time of celebration, this was also a wonderful opportunity for the community to get together and have fun.  The end of January into the gloomy brume of February can be a slow and hard time of year for many.  Highlights such as this hour of pure fun can help to make the season look brighter.   It is hoped that Honor Roll Carnival will go onto become as much of a loved tradition as the Honor Roll Auction.
