Happy Halloween!

Is that a giraffe on Linda's lap?

Halloween is well celebrated at Rock Point School.  As well as the usual costume wearing, apple bobbing and trick or treating we host our yearly Oooky Spooky 5k/3k race to raise money for COTS and play a staff vs. student costumed soccer game.

This year the race raised $575 for COTS which is an organization that works with homeless individuals and families in the local community.  The students all participated in organizing or supervising the race as part of their community service requirements.  The course took the runners all over the Rock Point property and along North Beach.Congratulations go to Fred Flintstone won this year.

The soccer game took place on the day of Halloween and the students were ultimately triumphant after a penalty shoot out.

Halloween is a highlight of the fall for both staff and students.  It is an excuse to wear costumes, eat candy and celebrate together.  We also take it as a fine time to help others while also wearing costumes and having fun.

Here's hoping that you too had a wonderful Halloween.
