Bishop Ely Addresses Chapel

BishopElyChapel.jpgThis morning Bishop Tom Ely, the Episcopal Bishop of Vermont, came to Chapel to talk to the students about the importance of Lent.  He offered the idea that Lent is a time for self examination - religious or otherwise - and a personal check-in.  Is my life going the way I want it to go?  How is my relationship with God or with other people?  He suggested that Lent can be a time for giving up something or for adding something to your life but that these things should only be done in the light of improving one's position in life or one's journey towards ones' goals.

He ended the Chapel with a breathing prayer and everyone took a moment to breathe in positive energy from God or elsewhere and to breathe out frustrations, troubles, and worries.

Go in peace.
