Summer Life at RPS

Summer session boarding students will be housed in the school’s unique dormitory rooms.  They will be accompanied by a live-in residential educator living on the floor.  Students have 24 hour access to staff, and are well-supported and supervised.  Dormitory rooms are equipped with air conditioners and are fully furnished.  Students will also have access to laundry facilities and a student refrigerator.

Rock Point School prides itself on providing students with healthy, local, and freshly prepared foods.  Summer session meals are served family style, and students will frequently have a hand in the food they are eating; either through working in the garden, preparing, and cooking.

Summer session students will be assigned to rotating work crews each week.  These responsibilities include vacuuming, kitchen cleaning, recycling, etc.  Students will also be expected to keep their personal space clean and will have several room checks throughout the week.

Students will have choice times throughout the day.  These are unscheduled blocks of time in which they can choose whether to relax and hang out, play pool or ping pong, go for a walk on-campus, work on academics, organize their rooms, create art, or call friends and family.
